Dear and esteemed Venezuelan and Cuban vice presidents and ministers;

Delegates:

We have attended the celebrations for the 57th anniversary of the 26th of July attacks. There could have been no better setting for this meeting.

We have concluded the first Cuba-Venezuela Presidential Summit, which opens up a new stage in our relations, after following a long and intense path, during which the links between our peoples have continued to strengthen, guided by the principles of friendship, cooperation and solidarity. Fidel pays tribute to the 26th of July martyrs in Artemisa / Rindió homenaje Fidel a los Mártires del 26 de Julio en Artemisa

WITH his khaki shirt of 1,000 battles, Comandante en Jefe Fidel Castro Ruz paid tribute last Saturday morning to the martyrs of the 26th of July at the mausoleum to their honor in Artemisa, Habana province.

Accompanied by Commanders of the Revolution Ramiro Valdés Menéndez and Guillermo García Frías; Ramón Pez Ferro and Gelasio Fernández, combatants from Artemisa in the assault on the Moncada Garrison; and other invited guests, the leader of the Revolution evoked countless memories of preparations for and the heroic action on July 26, 1953, and particularly emphasized the huge contribution of the Artemisa combatants. The 21st Pastors for Peace Caravan arrived in Cuba on Friday, July 23, carrying an important donation that includes vehicles, medical and sports equipment, and teaching materials for Cuban children,

US Authorities Confiscate PCs Donated to Cuba by Vancouver Residents

TEXAS, July 23.— US Customs officials confiscated five computers bound for Cuba that had been donated by Vancouver residents as part of the 21st Cuba-United States Friendship Caravan, sponsored by the Pastors for Peace Inter-religious Foundation .

“I think this is just a harassment and intimidation tactic,” said Janine Solanki, a member of Vancouver Communities in Solidarity with Cuba. Read more…

EL NACIMIENTO DE NUESTRO LIBERTADOR SIMÓN BOLÍVAR

Una inmensa mayoría de los venezolanas y de los países bolivarianos sabemos que Simón Antonio de la Trinidad Bolívar Palacios y Blanco nació el 24 de julio de 1783 pero para los que pudimos ver y admirar la exhumación de sus restos, el pasado 16 de los corrientes, nuestro Simón Bolívar resucitó, no vi sus restos frente a mi en la TV, lo aprecie de cuerpo presente y en pocos segundos pasaron por mi mente todas aquellas historias que mi madre, María Luisa Ruiz de Salamé y mis maestros de primaria y profesores en La Universidad de Texas y mi lectura de libros y biografías escritas sobre él. Report Back – CUBA! & Revolutionary Internationalism, 3rd International Che Guevara Conference, June 26-27, 2010

On June 26th and 27th, 2010, the Third Annual International Che Guevara Conference was held in Vancouver, Canada. This year’s conference, an annual event organized by Vancouver Communities in Solidarity with Cuba (VCSC), was on the theme of “Cuba and Revolutionary Internationalism”. With speakers from across the US, Canada, Cuba and Venezuela, this conference aimed to discuss a vitally important component of any revolutionary movement, which is at the core of the Cuban revolution: working-class internationalism.
